Weight Management
The University Club Fitness Center will offer a 12-week weight management program beginning in mid-January 2010. This program is "free" to Fitness Center members and is based on the successful weight management research being conducted at the University of Pittsburgh Physical Activity and Weight Management Research Center that has been published in prestigious medical journals. Interested participants will attend a weekly group session that will focus on changing eating and exercise behaviors to promote weight loss and weight loss maintenance. These 45-60 minute sessions will be held during lunch time hours on selected days of the week. Please contact Gillian or Renee in the Fitness Center for more details and to reserve your spot in this program. Space is limited so please register early if you are interested in participating in this program.
Healthy Cooking
A well-balanced lifestyle includes both physical activity and adequate nutrition. Fitness Center members will have access to seminar classes to learn how to create healthy, nutritious meals quickly and cost-effectively for their entire family. This program will be offered in collaboration with the Department of Sports Medicine and Nutrition and the Clinical Dietetic Program. Please check back for more details.
